Lego Birthday

I planned a Lego birthday party for my son who is turning nine years old. To start I searched the Internet for free templates and to get some ideas for the party. I found a Lego birthday party pack form Peonies and Poppyseeds here is the link for other Moms looking to find free Lego printable Peonies and Poppyseeds: Lego Birthday Party Printable Pack:

The pack had  all of the following:

I had some unused party invites that my son liked so I used them and just added the Mini Figures to the envelopes and on the invite itself. I used printable Lego Mini Figures I found at Lego.com  to glue to the front of my the invitation.

I took a Red Vines candy licorice jar and painted it into a big Lego head. It was easy to do. Just clean out a Red Vines jar and then spay paint it with two coats of paint. When dry just use a Sharpie marker to make a Lego head face.

I made all kind of decorations for the party. Using dollar store decorations and the free online prints.

Made a happy birthday banner with the Pdf found online at Peonies and Poppyseeds. I turned my front door into a big red Lego brick.

I then found another Lego Party pack from Aussie Pumpkin Patch Lego party pack . I am not using all the things in this pack but got some good ideas for games. I used a printable from her site to play a game of Find The Lego Heads. I printed and cut out these Lego Heads and hid them around the house.

We also played Lego Bingo I found some Lego Bingo cards from How to cook that.net. The link will take you there and you can down load your own. After that just use Lego pieces to cover the Bingo board.

I also thought it would be fun to make a Photo Booth for the kids to take pictures. I used wrapping paper from the dollar store and the lego printouts  from the pdf along with glitter star stickers. I also printed letters in Lego font for different tables and games.

For the food of the party my son wanted to have a hot dog bar. I used small appetizer dishes for toppings. just picked topping I knew kids and adults would like.We also had apples, oranges, grapes, peanut butter pretzels, cheese squares, and carrots with dip.

On the hot dog table I used two crock pots. One with the hot dogs cooking on low, put them in four hours before the party and they will be done on time. No need to add water the hot dogs will sweat and cook in there own juice. The other crock pot was for the hot dog buns. Put your crock pot on the lowest setting and add one wet paper towel ringed out then add a dry one on top, refill as the buns get low. I also kept no bean chili on 150 in the oven tell the party was about to start, for people that wanted to make chili dogs.
 We had hot dog trays.

To drink we had Izze sodas the ingredients are fruit juice and sparkling water with no refined sugars, preservatives, or artificial flavors. I love them they are so yummy! Taste much better then soda. I used another Pdf I found at What Poppeline Sees She also has a lot more printable you can use.

The last table I have to show you is the Candy Store. Over the course of the party the kids won tickets to use at the Candy Store. I made the Lego jar as seen earlier in the post. I also wrapper the cupcakes with the Lego wrapper that where in the Pdf.

I made Lego marshmallow pops. Here is a link to learn how to make your own Cake Pops. They are super easy to make. I did mine like 30 minutes before the party.
Wish I would have had more time to perfect them BUT I think they came out cute!
I took cotton candy out of the bag it came in and added them to sticks and made my own wrappers and stuck them in Styrofoam covered with tissue paper. Also made one for lollipops

We also had small toys for the kids to buy with tickets at the Candy Store.
I used Lego Mini Figures to put on the Candy Stores bags.

More of the Candy Store table.
